AJ was born in Philadelphia, PA. He is the yougest of four children, growing up in the late 60's and 70's rock "n" roll era. AJ's original influence and love for music began with the Beatles. He stumbled across his sister's Beatles 45 record "Revolution"and his urge to play the guitar emerged. From that point on, AJ broadend his interest in music by picking up the guitar. He had such admiration for the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, C.C.R, Allman Brothers, Led Zep, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhodes, Yngwie Malmsteen and his biggest inspiration, the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan. Besides his rock guitar idols, AJ was inspired by the Blues, loving such artists as B.B. King, Albert King, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, T' Bone Walker, and Howlin Wolf.
In the early 80's, by the age of 14 years old, AJ started playing the local Philly/Jersey club scene, with the band Destroyer and the 5670 Band. In the mid 80's, AJ shared the stage with Philly local rock acts such as Cinderella and Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers. By the late 80's, AJ went full force into his style of Blues and Sounthern Rock. By 1987, he played The Crazy Horse Saloon Blues Festival and met Texas blues legend Sonny Rhodes. After meeting Sonny, AJ did a short tour of the east coast playing guitar for the Sonny Rhodes Band. When he got back from that tour, he was a seasoned player and learned a lot about being on the road. From that point on, AJ played and toured the country with his own act playing the first Woodstock Festival back in the early 90's. There he played with the late great Rick Danko from the "Band". Following the Woodstock Festival, he was asked to go on tour with Richie Havens, but his bands schedule was busy with upcoming shows and AJ had to decline that tour. In the mid 90's, he was signed by World Mass Records for a short time and recorded his first original album. The record company demised, and he found himself searching again for a fresh start and a new deal. He bounced right back, and traveled across the country playing with such acts as The Guess Who and Hermans Hermits. AJ then began to broaden his road travels down south to Virginia, Mississippi, Tennesse, Florida and as far southwest to New Mexico. Down south, he played the Natchez Blues Festival, and shared the stage with great guitarist Smokin Joe Kubeck and Big Bill Morganfield. He then headed north and played Blues Festivals and large venues in Maine, Vermont, and New York.
To this day, he plays all over the country sharing his style of music from R&R, Blues, Country, Metal and his style of "Northern Rock. This is an inside joke because he loves Southern rock, but being from the North, he says he plays "Northern Rock with Attitude".
AJ is also a skilled and knowledgable teacher and shares his love for the guitar with his students. When he is not touring, he teaches at RnM Music School/Studio in Langhorne, PA and also excepts private students.
